Meet Mark Jones

Current position: Volunteer, community advocate and poet.

I’m involved with a number of community projects across North Wales, including Abergele Community Action and The Hygiene Bank North Wales.

What I enjoy most is bringing people together and helping make things more accessible and welcoming, particularly for disabled people and those who may feel overlooked or isolated. I also enjoy using creativity, whether through poetry, writing or media, to start conversations and connect with people.

My hobbies and interests include poetry and spoken word performance, photography, community projects, accessibility and inclusion work, transport advocacy, and spending time outdoors around the North Wales coast and countryside.

I joined Rotary because I wanted to give something back to the local community and be part of something that genuinely helps people. I’ve been a member since 2018, and I’ve really valued the friendships, opportunities and sense of purpose it has given me.
